The Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council served 200+ arts organizations and thousands of artists in the region with programming, grants, and while I was their in-house marketing manager, COVID response.

Day-to-day services at the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council included running paid digital ads, postering, community partnership efforts, printed materials for gallery exhibitions, email marketing, and more.

Projects included a complete website redesign for the organization, as well as these special engagements:

Following the COVID-19 epidemic, the regional Restart the Arts Campaign has had three phases, one designed and placed by myself and my supervisor, and two phases completed in collaboration with Oyster Creative Co., one of which, the recipient of a Renaissance Award. It included television spots, a roaming Arts Truck, cultural organizations maps for four regions (covering 70+ neighborhoods), digital ads, and a sticker campaign where the Pittsburgh phrase, “n’at” was turned into “n’art,” and if you sported the sticker in public, you might win free tickets to a Pittsburgh arts event.

Pittsburgh's arts organizations needed funding to make their venues feel safe for returning audiences. I pitched and executed a social media campaign for the Pittsburgh Arts Council Audience Safety Fund inspired by the graphic boldness of UPA animation, a style that conveys guidance, warmth, and optimism.

The campaign was successful in securing funding for the initiative. It's an early example of something I've tried to do across a lot of work since: find the visual language that uses social context to tell a bigger story.

Art on the Walls brought the work of regional artists to unconventional spaces throughout the Greater Pittsburgh region. It hosted exhibits multiple large office buildings in Pittsburgh, and garnered over $65K in art sales. Its ten year retrospective included signage and booklets to celebrate ten years of supporting local artists.

The Allegheny Arts Revival Grant provided hundreds of thousands of dollars to local artists. I branded and designed all ad placements over the span of a few short weeks, to great success, ushering in over three hundred local applicants.

Therapeutic Spaces by Artists Talk: Mental Health Pittsburgh is cohort program that provides professional development for artists paired with group therapy sessions addressing correlating issues.

Their materials across three cohorts were designed (at the client’s very fun request) to reflect an intersection of artists, anime, and “lo-fi” Vaporwave aesthetics.
